Jewellery Care
What is 18K gold vermeil?
Gold vermeil is a premium type of gold plating. It features a thick layer of 18K gold (at least 2.5 microns) over solid sterling silver.
It offers the look of solid gold at a more affordable price, while being higher quality than standard gold-plated jewellery.
Can I wear my vermeil jewellery in the shower or while exercising?
It’s best to avoid water, sweat, and steam. Moisture and chemicals can wear down the gold layer over time. Always remove your jewellery before showering, swimming, or working out.
What should I avoid while wearing jewellery?
Avoid contact with perfumes, lotions, hair products, and household cleaning agents. These can cause tarnishing or damage over time.
How should I store my jewellery?
Store each piece separately in a soft pouch or box to prevent scratches and tangling. Keep it away from humidity and direct sunlight.
How do I clean my gold vermeil jewellery?
Use a soft, dry cloth to gently wipe it clean.
Avoid using chemical cleaners or polishing cloths meant for solid gold—they may strip the gold layer.
Will the gold fade or tarnish over time?
With proper care, vermeil can last for years. However, over time, the gold layer may naturally wear, especially with daily wear.
When not in use, store your jewellery in a dry, airtight pouch to prolong its life.
Our Products
What materials do you use?
We craft our pieces using 18K gold vermeil, which is a thick layer of 18K gold over solid 925 sterling silver. It offers the luxurious look of solid gold with durability and affordability in mind.
We also use carefully selected cubic zirconia and moissanites to offer brilliance, sparkle, and style—each hand-set with attention to detail.
What is 18K gold vermeil, and how is it different from regular gold-plated jewellery?
Gold vermeil is not the same as standard gold plating. To be considered vermeil, the gold layer must be at least 2.5 microns thick and applied over solid sterling silver. This gives it better durability and a more premium finish compared to regular gold-plated brass or base metals.
What are cubic zirconia and moissanites?
Cubic zirconia (CZ) is a popular diamond alternative known for its clarity and affordability. It offers great sparkle and is perfect for everyday pieces.
Moissanite is a lab-created gemstone that’s nearly as hard as diamonds (9.25 on the Mohs scale) and has even more brilliance and fire. It's a sustainable, ethical alternative for fine jewellery lovers.
